This is a sensitive and complex issue. Freedom of expression and concerns about terrorism both matter, and the challenge is balancing them. In my opinion, platforms have the right to set terms of service that prohibit content promoting violence or terrorism. If a user, regardless of age, joins a platform that disseminates extremist content, the platform bears responsibility for enforcing its policies consistently. At the same time, the 18-year-old in question may not have fully understood the implications, which points to the need for better digital literacy education. Personally, I believe clear platform policies and user education are both necessary to address this kind of situation effectively.
